Barely existed. We left French Polynesia at 2am on March 16th and arrived Auckland, New Zealand at 7am on March 17th…six hours later!
Finally… Some sun! We were greeted with sunshine after getting off the ferry from Moorea to Tahiti. We soaked in every second of it before the magnificent sunset and our 2am flight the next morning to New Zealand.
We know, what else is new, right? We do enjoy a good meal regardless of the weather, but the fresh seafood and unlimited breakfast buffet were great highlights of our rainy days. This is a special food post for one of the most incredible culinary scientists we know, our brother, Giles Dickerson (www.ahungrygull.com). Happy birthday! Here’s a sampler of the yummy food we ate…often accented by real Tahitian vanilla.
Rain. Lots of rain. Some sunshine. More rain. That pretty much sums up our short stay on Moorea. Since French Polynensia is on the flight path from Easter Island to New Zealand, we couldn’t resist stopping here for a few days for some R&R before our next round of adventures.
